Poonam Haveli - Rooftop Lake View Hotel, initially part of Badwa’s Haveli (a small castle), was gifted to Shri AmarchandBadwa who was the Prime Minister of Mewar from 1751 to 1778, throughout the reigns of MaharanasPratap Singh II, Raj Singh II, Ari Singh, and Hamir Singh respectively, built this haveli. Following the death of Amarchand, the edifice came under the domain of the Mewari Royal Family.

In 1994, KanaiyaLalSoni, the renowned painter of his times took over the Heritage building. It was his vision to convert it into a modernly comfortable hotel. Today, HOTEL Poonam Haveli - Rooftop Lake View Hotel is one of the most popular hotel due to it’s location, right at the heart of Udaipur. Walkable distance from City palace, Bagore Ki Haveli and Jagdish Temple.

Poonam Haveli - Rooftop Lake View Hotel is a three storey building with roof-top restaurant along with elevator facility. All 16 rooms depict the art of Mewari, Rajasthani paintings on the walls & ceiling. The colourful glass panes on windows along with jharokhasreclaims the ethnic beauty. Neat & clean bathrooms attached to each room. There are verandas facing the courtyard of few rooms & few have jharokhas facing the outside lane. Around the inside of the building holds the art & the glass work. A small courtyard adds to it’s beauty.

On the third floor is the roof top restaurant called The Winter garden. In between the colourful glass windows and the mesmerising view of Lake Picholas stands the hand painted garden restaurant. Walls are painted of plants, trees, flowers, fruits, butterflies, etc…
Above the garden restaurant is the terraced restaurant, an experience to laze on the cushions & stretch your legs and enjoy the evening with your loved ones with a candle light dinner.

An ideal place to experience the inside of the Heritage area, part of old city.
Late KanaiyaLalSoni was a Gold Medalist in Miniature paintings. He was invited by French Government to L’INDE au Village Suisse for an Exhibition of Paintings. He was awarded by International Economic Development Forum in 1997 for Outstanding Services, Achievements & Contributions.
